Thrift Store and Yard Sale Finds

As if I have time to add anything else to my plate …  But since I promised to include a few DIY projects from time to time, I’ve decided to visit thrift stores and yard sales during my “down time.”

It has probably been 8 or 9 years since I’ve visited a thrift store or went yardsaling.  I have had a few early morning yard sales myself during that time, but I just haven’t had time to visit anyone else’s.  Yesterday, I visited the Goodwill store and browsed around for about 30 minutes.  I was looking for a narrow bedside table to replace mine to make room for the king sized bed that we’ve been putting off getting for years or something to place beside my bed to hold my books.  I am getting pickier and pickier about books and mail lying on top of my bedside table.  As I do in most stores, I went straight to the home goods section.  Nothing really piqued my interest, but I couldn’t leave empty handed, so I picked up this.

I’m not really sure what it is, but I thought maybe I can use it in the bedroom or home office.  We’ll see how that turns out.  When I got to the register, I asked if the price was the price.  Of course, the answer was yes.  I then asked if they offer senior discounts.  Yep I am now asking about that.  Yikes, I’m a senior citizen.  Well it turns out, they do offer senior citizen discounts of 20% on Tuesdays.  Today – is – Monday!  Maybe next time, I’ll remember to come on a Tuesday.  My little find today was only $3.99, but a dollar is a dollar right?

I’ll post the after pics once I figure out what to do with it.  I kind of like the current finish, but who knows once I put some thought into it during my “down time.”
